We are all confused and anxious right now. What a terrible and horrific situation we are all in.
Following current government guidelines, we remain open.
However there is some confusion about whether or not our customers can leave their premises to bring their caravan to us for repairs.
In the media, all communications from the government has been the direction to “stay at home except for four reasons”.
The government continue to adjust legislation and, on the March 30 2020, created two new requirements;
Direction – Stay at home and Direction – Restricted activity
In the Stay at Home Directions document (linked above) it states in Part 3 – Reasons to leave premises clause 6 Leaving premises to obtain necessary good and services Part c the following:
(C) other necessary goods and services including but not limited to, goods or services provided by:
(i) a financial institution;
(ii) a government body or agency;
(iii) a post office;
(iv) a pharmacy;
(v) a hardware store;
(vi) a petrol station;
(vii) a pet store or veterinary clinic;
(viii) a retail facility that is not prohibited from operating by the Restricted Activities Directions
As we are a service and repair centre and not on the restricted list of business, customers can travel to our premises if they wish.
However, like most businesses, over the past few weeks we have implemented a range of measures to protect ourselves and our customers, from new infection control policies to restricting access to our workshops and more.
We are offering a pick up & drop off service to our customers.
Simply arrange your caravan so it is accessible to our staff, leave your keys in a safe place, and we will take it from there.
In addition to this, we have introduced an entirely non contact drop off and pick up service.
This means, if you choose to drop off or pick up your caravan, you will not need to see, talk, touch or interact with any of us, or even enter our premises.
You will simply unhitch, drop your keys into our safety box, or collect your keys and hitch up, and we will communicate with you via whatever electronic or digital means that suits you!
This protects you and our staff.
We are keeping abreast of Govt. Announcements re: business closures and will of course follow any advice and inform you.
We are a small business, and like most other businesses, this situation will impact us severely.
